Life Fitness has appointed Sarah Plant to the position of Account Manager for VIVO in the UK. She joins Claire Kendrick, European Director of Fitness Management Solutions, and Tony Ramwell, VIVO Installations and Support Manager for Europe, who joined Life Fitness in April 2006.
Sarah spent 10 years with DC Leisure, most recently as a Regional Fitness Manager, where she was responsible for training and retention. She joined Life Fitness at the beginning of June and will be the key point of contact for installations, providing both support and training for customers.
On her appointment, Sarah says: "I jumped at the chance to join Life Fitness because it is a large, well established company with a great reputation.
The launch of VIVO in the UK is very exciting and I'm thrilled to be involved at its inception. Whilst the technology and functionality that it gives operators is very impressive, its underlying aim is to promote exercise adherence by encouraging an active lifestyle and incorporating fitness into the daily routine."
Claire Kendrick is heading up the VIVO project in the UK and Europe. She joined Life Fitness with 10 years operational experience in private health clubs and local authorities, including 4 years within the IT Department at Cannons, where she was responsible for selecting software and managing projects for sales management and retention solutions.
Claire explains: "There has been a desperate need for a system like this in the fitness industry, and VIVO provides a fantastic solution. It focuses on and aids customer/instructor interaction by enabling staff to be out and visible on the gym floor, rather than stuck behind a PC.
The response from our customers has been extremely positive and demand has already surpassed our initial expectations."
She continues: "It's great to have watched VIVO evolve and be able to influence the development of the product specifically for the European market. Having been a Life Fitness customer myself, I am able to understand and relate to their perspective.
We have worked closely with operators and utilised their feedback throughout the development process to ensure that VIVO meets their requirements."
In his role as VIVO Installations and Support Manager, Tony Ramwell is helping to project manage VIVO installations across new sites. Having spent 7 years in the Army as a telecommunications specialist, Tony joined the IT Department at Cannons prior to his appointment at Life Fitness.
On VIVO, Tony says: "I'm fortunate to have been able to work with the system before it came to market. It has enormous capabilities and I have no doubt will prove to be a huge benefit to our customers."
